March 16 sets the tone for the entire Sustain Me Living and Wellness Fair with ‘Sounds of the Islands.’

You are invited to a full day Island inspired celebration that blends live musical performances, wellness education, and community connection.

What Your Day Includes:

  • Sustain Me Kickoff Party + Marketplace Day Ticket: $40 + processing fees
  • Children under 12 are free with paid adult
  • Wristband allows in and out access all day

10:00 AM: Live Music with Jaimie "Island" Shores

Jaimie Shores has been performing on steel pan since the age of 8. She grew up playing pans with her family band, Tropical Shores. Jaimie has played thousands of events such as fairs, weddings, corporate events, private parties, and many more. She is a classically trained percussionist and has taught private lessons, high school drum lines, and steel drum bands for over 15 years. Most recently, Jaimie served as band director at Socrates Academy in Matthews, NC.

Jaimie has found great joy and satisfaction in making music and sharing it with people all over the country. Now based in Charlotte, NC, Jaimie plays events and parties in North and South Carolina.

11:30 AM: DJ Ruby Star

Ruby is a Roots Reggae & Dub Selectress & co-owner of Sky High Reggae. She has been collecting and spinning tunes since the 90’s. Ruby’s collection spans 80 years of conscious music throughout the African diaspora.

1:00 PM: Live Music with Lopaka Rootz

Lopaka Rootz is a singer songwriter & musician creating Reggae music from Hawaii. Kailua Kona, Hawaii, Moku o Keaw to be precise. Known for his KWXX #1 Hit songs “Living My Best Life” and “Blue Clear Sky”, “Lemon Pie”, “Ganjaprenuer”, “The Three L’s”, the “Irie Hawaii Radio Ad Jingle”, “Eddie”, “The Ocean”, and “Takin It Easy.”

He has gotten frequent radio play on KWXX, KAPA and Q103 in Maui and Kong Radio in Kauai. He was just recently featured on KHON’s living 808 as one of local reggae’s upcoming stars and has opened for such headlining acts as Leilani Wolfgramm, Soul Medic, Black Uhuru, Through The Roots, Tomorrows Bad Seeds and Mike Love at the sold out Kahilu Theatre. 

His music is a unique style of positive original upbeat reggae with a message of gratitude and positivity.

Ruby is a Roots Reggae & Dub Selectress & co-owner of Sky High Reggae. She has been collecting and spinning tunes since the 90’s. Ruby’s collection spans 80 years of conscious music throughout the African diaspora.

4:00 PM: Live Music with Of Good Nature

Of Good Nature is a high-energy live band from Charlotte, NC, blending rock, soul, reggae, and world music into a powerful, feel-good experience. Known for their vibrant musicianship and irresistible grooves, the band delivers dynamic performances rooted in real instruments, funky rhythms, and crowd connection. No clicks, no tracks, just pure chemistry.

Led by singer, guitarist, and songwriter Cam Brown, OGN is a tight-knit musical family: David Hamilton Jr. on drums, JazzyZach on saxophone, Jeremy Maher on bass, Jerred Gaynor on percussion, and MikelParis (of O.A.R.) on keyboards. Together, they’ve built a reputation for unforgettable live shows and genre-fusing sound.

Their latest single, “Hold Me” featuring G. Love and Special Sauce is being spun across the country on AAA Radio, while their track “Be The Day” was featured in PlayStation’s MLB The Show. The band’s breakout song, “Don’t Wanna Give Up” featuring Shwayze, quickly surpassed 1 million Spotify streams and became a summertime staple on Spotify’s Beach Vibes playlist, connecting with fans around the world through its hopeful lyrics: “I’ll smile and I’ll breathe, I’ll do what I need.”

Beyond the stage, Of Good Nature brings their mission to life through community action. They partnered with NourishUp to launch the “Good Food For Good Neighbors” fundraiser, providing meals and food education to thousands in need across Charlotte. The band also joined forces with RoofAbove Charity and was featured in Sierra Nevada’s Doing Big Things campaign for their work in uplifting their local community. Whether on stage, in the studio, or giving back, Of Good Nature is all heart, all groove, and all in. Inviting listeners everywhere to move, feel, and live good.
